Listen to ArtSound online

Thanks to our partners at Infinite Networks, if you have an internet connection you can listen to ArtSound, live, anywhere in the world. There are two versions of the service streaming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The 128kbit/s MP3 service is supported by more players, but the 64kbit/s AAC+ stream is higher quality at a lower bandwidth.

Your computer may need to be set up to play the streams correctly. There are many options to play the streams, and the streams may not play correctly (or at all) on your computer. The streams play in an external media player: you must have an appropriate player installed and the computer should be set up to open the appropriate player to play the streams when the link is clicked.

If your computer has been set up to play streaming content, you might just be able to click one of the links above to hear the service.

Another option is to listen to ArtSound FM through the Shoutcast service.

Macintosh

On a Macintosh, by default the streams will play in iTunes: click the selected link and iTunes should open and play the stream.  If clicking the link does not work for you, control-click (or right-click) the link, choose Copy Link from the contextual menu, open iTunes, choose Open Audio Stream... from the Advanced menu, and paste the url into the URL text box. Click the OK button to play the stream.

Windows

On Windows, Windows Media Player or WinAmp will play the streams. Your computer may already be set up to play the streams. Click one of the links and the stream may play in the appropriate application. If the stream does not play, right-click the link to the stream you want to play, choose Download Linked File from the contextual menu, and save the file to your computer. Locate the file you downloaded, right-click on the file, and choose an option from the Open with sub-menu. You can also choose Properties from the contextual menu that appears when you click on the file you downloaded. In Properties, click the Change button. A list of recommended programs installed on your computer that may play the stream appears. If no recommended programs appear, download and install Windows Media Player or WinAmp and try again. Choose one of the recommended programs, then click OK. Double click the file you downloaded to open the stream in the program you have chosen.

iTunes

If you use iTunes and you are having trouble making the streams work, go to the Advanced menu in iTunes and paste either of the following urls into the Open Audio Stream... text box:

aac+ stream:

http://artsoundfm.infinite.net.au:8000/aac

mp3 stream:

http://artsoundfm.infinite.net.au:8000/mp3

VLC

VLC is an open-source media player available free from VideoLAN for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. VLC will play both the MP3 and the AAC+ streams. Download and install the player for your computer, then copy the link for the 128kbit/s MP3 or the 64kbit/s AAC+ stream by right-clicking on the link (control-click on a Macintosh), and choosing Copy Link from the contextual menu. Open VLC, Choose Open Network from the File menu, and paste the url copied from the link into the URL field, then click the Open button.

Feedback

ArtSound cannot support you if you cannot open the streams: there are too many options for us to consider. If you do have feedback on our streams, please fill out our online form: we always welcome our listeners' feedback!
