TRIBUTE TO ADOLPHE SAX

We take you to the lawns of the Embassy of Belgium in Canberra for a garden party/ jazz celebration of the bi-centennial anniversary of the birth of Adolphe Sax, a Belgian inventor and musician who invented the saxophone in the early 1840s (patented in 1846).

Recorded in 2014, the concert features John Mackey (tenor), pictured, and Carl Mackey (alto), Tate Sheridan (keys), Mark Sutton (drums) and His Excellency Jean-Luc Bodson, the then ambassador to Belgium, on bass.

In the second part of the concert, the Telopea Park High School band took the stage and blew the cobwebs away!

Produced and presented by Chris Deacon OAM
