We won’t dress this up — running a radio station is genuinely expensive, and our income is small. Here’s exactly where your money goes:
Broadcasting Licenses — The APRA AMCOS and PPCA fees that mean every artist we play gets paid fairly. No licences, no music. Simple as that.
Transmission — Keeping our signal strong across Canberra and the surrounding regions, plus the streaming infrastructure for listeners near and far.
Studio Equipment — Microphones, mixing desks, and the technology upgrades that mean what you hear sounds like it should.
Volunteer Training — Our presenters are volunteers, but they’re trained properly. That’s why they sound so good.
Emergency Preparedness — Backup everything. Because when Canberra needs its community broadcaster most, we need to still be on air.
