The  2019 ACT Young Virtuoso was chosen at a live-to-air event from the Artsound recording studio last Sunday afternoon (20 October). She is Mila Haydon, a fifteen-year-old violinist who wants to be a concert soloist. She enchanted listeners, the small live audience and the two adjudicators with her dramatic renditions of Tchaikovsky’s Meditations and Matthew Hindson’s Little Chrissietina’s Magic Fantasy. The very worthy runner-up was another teenage violinist, Sam Jenkins.

Mila  will represent ArtSound and the ACT at the national final of the Fine Music Network Young Virtuoso Award in Adelaide on Sunday 24 November.
