Learn to Make Radio — ArtSound Presenter Training
There’s a seat in our studio with your name on it.
ArtSound FM runs presenter training throughout the year — and it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do if you love music, the arts, or simply have something worth saying. Our volunteers come from every walk of life. What they share is a passion for Canberra’s creative community and a willingness to learn.
Training is hands-on and practical. You’ll develop real skills in spoken-word delivery, interviewing, music programming, production, and the technical craft of putting a show together. By the end, you’ll know how a radio programme is built — and you’ll be ready to build one of your own.
No experience is necessary. If you have deep knowledge of jazz, or classical music, or folk, or film, or any corner of the arts — we want to hear from you. If you simply want to learn the craft from scratch, that’s equally welcome. ArtSound has been training community broadcasters for over 40 years, and our trainers know how to bring out the best in beginners.
Courses run at intervals throughout the year in small, friendly groups.
